IDEAs for a Better City at Eye Level is a research by design project by the interdisciplinary team of BFAS, STIPO, Weusten Liedenbaum and TU Delft. IDEAs explores the innovation of urban area development through human behaviour analysis in a virtual environment.
In collaboration with the City of Amsterdam a pilot research was done for the design of a new street in the yet to be built Sluisbuurt. To address the limitations of current approaches, IDEAs strives to investigate how human behavior in a virtual environment can be used to evaluate and improve design proposals. During the first phase of this study resulted in the development of a tool that can analyse human behavior of a group of participants in a virtual environment.
